CLEVELAND & NORTH YORKSHIRE SPORTING CLAY LEAGUE
The Cleveland and North Yorkshire Sporting Clay League was formed in the early 1980’s. It was set up, as the constitution says:
“The Cleveland and North Yorkshire Sporting Clay League aims to promote, safeguard and encourage the sport of clay pigeon shooting. The league is run as a non profit making body.”
The League Season starts on Wednesday 29th April 2009 until Wednesday 26th August 2009. There are 9 clubs currently in the league and they are spread across North Yorkshire, Cleveland and Co Durham.
The cost of a weekly shoot in the League is £10 per person. The League collects a £6 Joining Fee for every shooter who takes part in the league every season.
The League holds a number of member events such as the League 70 bird shoot, this year this is held at Marne CC on 17th May 2009. Entries are from 10am to 2pm. Entrance Fees are £15 Competition and Birds Only £13, with £2 paid into a prize fund. The prize fund is allocated to the classes of the participants.
On Sunday 14th June 20009, Oak Lodge GC will be hosting a 5 person team competition. The team will consist of a maximum of one person from AA Class, plus four other members from any other class and from the same shooting team. The Entry Fee is £13 per person with a £1 going into a prize fund. The prizes will be paid from top to bottom. This competition allows members just to shoot and not enter the team competition.
We advise all our members and spectators that Eye and Ear protection should be worn whilst members are on the shooting grounds.
